BRIGHT BEGINNINGS
The Bright Beginnings Program, administered by the YMCA, provides school supplies and clothing for needy children so that they can begin the school year with a “bright” future. St Francis has agreed to support this vital program for the coming school year. There are three ways to help:
1. Monetary donations (it takes $150 to outfit a student)
2. Volunteer to help a student shop (JC Penney, first week in August before store opens to public)
3. Provide a backpack filled with supplies ("Backpack Buddies", grade level lists provided)
St. Francis has committed to 14 backpacks. Forms for monetary donations, volunteering to shop, and backpack buddies will be available at church beginning Sunday, July 10. Deadlines for the program are as follows:
- Monetary donations: Deliver to church by August 7 or mail to YMCA by August 10
- Volunteers for shopping: Return form to church by July 10 or mail to YMCA by July 15
- Backpacks: Backpacks due at church by July 24
