Kindred Spirits Preparing Pillow Cases for Christ Church CARITAS

As a part of the American Patchwork and Quilting's 1 Million Pillowcase Challenge, members of St. Francis's Kindred Spirits needlework group have donated 25 custom made pillowcases to Caritas. The 1 Million Pillowcase Challenge was brought to our attention by Billie Reid, who has personally made and donated over 40 pillowcases he
rself to local hospitals and nursing homes. As a co-sponsor of Caritas for women and children with Christ Church in late July, she thought it would be nice for us to donate pillowcases to each child during our week. While the sewing was done at home, we had fun cutting out and assembling the pillowcases in our bi-monthly gathering on Friday evenings and seeing what combinations each person had selected. We chose bright and colorful fabric themes suitable for children and teens. As you can see from the photo (coming soon), we succeeded in making a good selection so that each child can have something special for their cot.
