CARITAS!

Last Sunday, St. Francis received a request from Christ Church to assist with their Caritas scheduled for Wednesday, August 29th. A church in Ashland which volunteered had to cancel. Consequently, Christ Church asked us for our assistance and we gladly agreed to cover their evening meal that night. Jan Nelson is making arrangements for the food (spaghetti, bread, and green beans). However, we need volunteers for cookies and brownies for dessert.
We started a sign-up sheet this past Sunday and now have 10 volunteers. Our understanding is there will be 28 women attending as Caritas guests. In the past we have had around 15 people from St. Francis to assist and everything has worked fine. Therefore we are looking for about five more volunteers in order to ensure we have enough people bringing desserts. Volunteers should arrived at Christ Church between 4:30-5:15 pm in order to help prepare for the meal. Sign-up sheets will again be available in the Narthex this Sunday.
