Bright Beginnings!

St. Francis has been asked to continue our participation in the Bright Beginnings program sponsored by the Goochland YMCA. YMCA Bright Beginnings gives children in our community the tools they need to succeed each school year. It provides eligible students with new clothes, shoes and a backpack filled with supplies. Together, we can ensure that students get the school year started on the right foot.
We would like to prepare as many backpacks this year as we did last summer (we committed to 16 last year and actually received several more than that). There are three ways to help out:
- Purchase and fill new backpacks - all backpacks due back to church on Sunday, July 28
- Donate funds used to purchase new shoes and clothes - donations also due back to church by Sunday, July 28
- Help the children shop for new shoes and clothes at Regency Square JC Penney's on August 1, 5, 6, 7, or 8
